February Membership’s Kit of the Month

Hi friends! I am super excited to be back with you today! I always love the first of the month at Unity Stamp Company – this means the new monthly memberships are live and there is truly something for everyone! Do you love monthly crafty mail… I do! You can check out all the memberships and see if one is right for you! Today I will be sharing a card using one of the stamped images from the Kit of the Month! This kit is full of beautiful red rubber stamps! I am starting off the month using this GORGEOUS butterfly stamped image! It’s a large stamp and fills up an A2 size card front! Let’s get started!

Stamping and Coloring

For today’s card I had fun creating a bit of a mixed media vibe using the large butterfly stamp from the new February Kit of the Month! I love this large butterfly stamp and know I will be using this large stamp again very soon! I started by stamping the image using Versafine Black ink onto Fabriano Hot Press watercolor paper. I then used my Karin markers to color the images. I did a very simple watercoloring with these images today. I only did 2 layers of color on each butterfly. I let each layer dry in-between. I used by zig clean color brush markers around the butterfly images to create the shadows. I used a gray and a black marker around the butterflies to create some more contrast. I let the coloring dry and then fussy cut the one side of the butterfly image and set it aside.

Background

To create the background I used the beautiful Lots of Love background stamp (this stamp is currently on sale too)! I love the script font on this background stamp! I used clear embossing ink and heat set the image used Raven Fine Embossing powder from Brutus Monroe onto Canson XL watercolor paper. I then used my Starry Colors Gansai Tambi watercolors to add gold to sections of the watercolor stamped panel. In looking back I think I should have picked a different color, but I decided to keep it! What do you think? I added splatters using both gold and gray.

Putting it Together/Sentiment

Once everything was complete it was time to put everything together. I die cut both panels using a double stitched rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I adhered the butterfly panel using foam tape to the scripty background. I then adhered this to my card panel. I chose 3 sentiments from the September 2020 Sentiment kit! I love these sentiment kits so much! There is so much variety in these kits and they stamp so AMAZING everytime! I stamped these sentiments onto black card stock and heat embossed them using white embossing powder! I glued them down and used foam tape as well behind one of the sentiments. I added some Distress Mica Flakes to 4 of the butterfly images! These flakes are so beautiful and so much fun in person! I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Watercolor with Sparkles – Unity Stamp Company

Hi everyone! I wanted to stop in today to share a card making technique with watercolor and sparkles! When I think of a winter scene I can see the snow glisten with added shine, it makes the cold and winter days so pretty! For today’s card I am using 2 stamp sets from Unity Stamp Company – October 2020 KOM and Love into Giving! Let’s get started!

I started by stamping the large tree scene stamp from the October 2020 KOM using Versafine Clair Ink – in Pinecone on Canson XL watercolor paper. I prepped my area for stamping using an antic-static powder tool. I stamped the image using Pinecone Versafine Clair. I stamped the image two times to ensure a dark and crisp image. I then added my first sparkle using Brutus Monroe Rainbow sparkle embossing powder. I love the subtle sparkle this embossing powder has, perfect for my winter scene. I followed the same process for the snowman from the Love into Giving stamp set. I love this cute snowman, he makes me smile!

I taped my stamped images to a board and enjoyed watercoloring with my Mission Gold watercolors. I started with my lightest colors and allowed them to dry, then added more color to add depth and dimension to both the trees and the sky. Once everything was watercolored, I set them aside to dry. I chose a sentiment from the October 2020 KOM and stamped this using Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne on a kraft cardstock. I then used my Tim Holtz distress tool to add a bit of a distressed edge to my sentiment strip.

Once my watercolor was completely dry, I wanted to add snow to the scene. To create the snow I used metallic watercolors in both white and silver. Once everything was dry, I fussy cut my snowman and assembled my card. I used a side folding card base, with a kraft card base. I popped up the sentiment using foam tape. I then added Stickles to the snowman’s hat and to parts of the tree as well for added shine and sparkles! I hope you enjoyed my watercolor scene with sparkles!

Unity Stamp Company – NEW Release

Hi friends! I am super excited to be back today on my blog sharing an AMAZING new release at Unity Stamp Company! It has been a very busy start to the school year. I apologize if I have missed some of your posts. I am hoping to begin to get back on track! Unity has an awesome release today and I had so much fun creating with 3 of the new sets! Let’s get started!

For my first card I am using the beautiful Scattered leaf Background stamp. I love this stamp and I created a shaker card using this beautiful new set! I haven’t made a shaker card in awhile, I thought this was the perfect set to create a fun shaker card! So let’s get started!

I started by stamping my image on Fabriano Hot Press watercolor paper. I love this paper for my Karin markers! I find the color moves really well on this paper and allows me to build color up really well without the paper pilling. Once my coloring was complete, I die cut the center circle for the shaker element. I then started to prepare my shaker.

To create a shaker pouch I use the clear office 3 ring binder sheets. I start by cutting the section I need to fill in my space. I have found using the binder pouches it is easy to create a shaker pouch. To create the shaker I use a Fuse Tool. Depending on the cut, I may need to fuse together 3 sides before I add the shaker elements. Once my elements are inside, I fuse the last side together. I then tape the pouch on the back panel and then use foam tape to create dimension, which allows the shaker elements to move. I then chose 2 sentiments from the Heart of Autumn Sentiment Kit. I heat embossed these on black cardstock using white embossing powder. I adhered my card together and added black twine which was a part of a KOM. I hope you enjoyed my first card.

For my second card I am using another beautiful background stamp called Illumination border background. I love the simplicity of these beautiful holiday lights. I also adore the vintage feel to these bulbs as well! Let’s get started!

I started by stamping the background stamp on Fabriano Hot Press watercolor paper as well. I planned to use my Karin markers to color these beautiful bulbs. I colored in my bulbs using 3 different colors. Once my coloring was complete I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to the bulbs. I used WOW Glitter embossing powder. It is hard to capture the shine in the pictures. I chose a sentiment from the September 2020 KOM. I love these kits – they are full of beautiful red rubber stamps delivered right to your door each month! I then trimmed down the card panel using a Hero Arts rectangle die. I trimmed own a piece of patterned paper from my stash and then adhered my card together. This was a fun and quick card to make! The possibilities with this stamp are endless and so fun! I can’t wait to see what you make with it!

For my last card I am using the ADORABLE Gobble owl, isn’t he so cute? I had so much fun coloring him. Let’s get started with my last card using this cutie!

To begin I stamped the owl on Fabriano Hot Press watercolor paper. I used my karin markers to color in this adorable image. I completed serval layers of color and then added colored pencils to the nooks and crannies for added dimension to this owl image. I then trimmed down my owl into a square using a die cut from my stash. I find I don’t use my square dies enough. I need to bring them out more often.

I wanted to create a fun background for my stamped image, I wanted to use this beautiful piece of patterned paper that was a gift mailed with my September 2020 KOM – I love that Unity adds fun surprises to your monthly mail. I trimmed down the patterned paper to fit an A2 sized card panel. I then stamped the beautiful background stamp – Small Details onto a piece of kraft cardstock using gold embossing powder. I then used a combination of distress oxides to “antique” the background a bit. I then adhered my card together and used foam tape behind my owl stamp panel. I added a bit of brown twine for added interest.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! You can see all of the new released stamp sets here! I hope you will take a peek!

Unity Stamp Company – New Monthly Kits!

Hi Everyone! It is September 1st and that means the new monthly kits are being revealed today over at Unity Stamp Company! I love when the first of the month arrives, it is exciting to see the new stamp memberships and all the beautiful red rubber stamps! Unity Stamp Company has 4 different memberships, there is something for everyone! I will link them all below if you are interested in checking them out!

Today I am sharing 2 cards with you, using 2 of the monthly memberships. For my first card I am using the September 2020 kit of the Month – Elements of the Holiday. I love this kit, it is full of red rubber stamps and this month’s kit is full of amazing holiday stamps! I can’t wait to create more cards with this kit!

I started by stamping this beautiful Poinsettia image. I used Tombow markers to color today. I worked in layers to complete this coloring. I worked from my lightest color to my darkest color. I did add colored pencils to the nooks and crannies for added dimension. Once my coloring was complete I used my Brother Scan and Cut to trim this stamped image. I added metallic splatters to the floral image and set it aside to dry.

I then started to work on my card panel. I wanted to add some interest behind my floral image. I chose the stamp set Love Life as Is – Unity Stamp Company. I stamped the large background stamp in Gold ink onto my card panel. I then trimmed down the panel using the Double Stitched Rectangle Die from Gina Marie Designs. I adhered this panel to my A2 card base. I added burlap twine around my card base. I really like the added burlap twine – I feel it adds a rustic touch! I used foam tape to adhere the floral image, as well as the sentiment. My card is complete! I can’t wait to create my next holiday card with this kit – so many amazing stamps!

For my 2nd card I am using the September 2020 Uniquely Unity – Wings of Peace. This set is adorable. I wanted to showcase the beautiful dragonflies from this set with a simple color palette and of course some added shine! Let’s get started!

I started by stamping 3 of the same dragonfly stamps on Canson Mixed Media paper. I then trimmed them using my Brother Scan and Cut. I wanted to do some ink “smooshing” for the dragonflies using distress inks. I love adding color this way – it is simple and quick! I used the following colors: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, and Shaded Lilac. I placed some ink on my glass mat and spritzed water and then “smooshed” the dragonflies into the ink. I did this several times. I then set them aside to dry and started to work on my background panel.

I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock for my background. I chose a Gina Marie Designs stencil from my stash. I used two colors on the background/Distress Oxide: Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose. Once my blending was complete, I added glimmer paste – Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze/Fallen Snow. I set this aside to dry. Once dry, I trimmed this panel down to an A2 card size. I wanted only a portion of my gray card base to show. I trimmed the scalloped border using Pretty Pink Posh scallop border die. I then adhered my card and added some pink twine for added interest!

Give Thanks – August KOM

Hi everyone I hope your week is off to a great start. Today I wanted to stop in and share a fall card using the August 2020 kit of the month from Unity Stamp Company. The kit is full of so many beautiful red rubber stamps as well as beautiful sentiments. Today I chose to work with a fall wreath from the kit as well as a sentiment.

To begin I started with a piece of Canson water color card stock. I first started by creating a watercolor background using Gansai Tambi Watercolors. I used the following colors to create the background: 42 Aureolin, 46 Burnt Sienna, 32 Red, and 33 Cadium orange. For this background I used a wet on wet technique. I placed water on the background, then brought in each color to the paper. I have found when creating a background the wet on wet technique works very well for allowing the watercolors to move and blend together. It is important to let each layer dry before adding more color. I have found best results when they dry on their own. I did two layers of color and on the second layer I did add some blush gold 91.

Once my background panel was dry, I embossed the wreath using Brutus Monroe embossing ink and then used Brutus Monroe Gilded Gold embossing powder. I then used Karin brush markers to color the fall leaves and acorns in. I used the following colors: Red 209, Amber 195, Gold 283, Sepia 074, and Henna 105. Since I did a watercolor background I did very simple coloring. I did one layer of color and then added a second layer in different parts of the leaves and acorns for added interest. I then used a Hero Arts nested rectangle die to die cut my panel. I added some metallic splatter to the watercolor background in a red metallic and orange metallic. I used a piece of dark orange card stock from my stash and glued that to my card panel. I then placed the wreath panel on top. I chose a sentiment from the set called Give Thanks. I stamped this in black and then die cut it using a Gina Marie designs stitched Circle die. I adhered this with foam tape. I added a few sequins for added sparkle.

Friends Stick Together – Unity Stamp Company

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! The week flew by for me! I am super excited as my daughter graduates this weekend from high school! It’s an exciting time for her and we couldn’t be more proud of the young lady she is becoming!

It’s an exciting time over at Unity stamp Company – there are many beautiful releases, including several digital stamps that are now red rubber! I am excited to share my cards with you today!

My first card is using the new stamp set Stick Together. This set is illustrated by my friend Sandhya Iyer! I love this set, the cacti is beautiful and the sentiments in this set are AMAZING! A great way to send a sweet message to your friends! For this card I started with my image on Canson Mixed Media paper. I used my peerless watercolors today for this card. I love these colors as they are super pigmented. I always start from lightest to darkest and build color until I have the depth I am looking for. I let each layer of color dry in between for the best results.

Once my watercoloring was complete, I stamped the sentiment Keep Going Keep Growing. I die cut my panel using a Gina Marie Designs Nested Scalloped Rectangle die. I adhered the panel onto a black card base. I then added Nuvo drops in black. I love this set!

For my next card I am using the new Gingko Greetings. I am so excited this stamp just released in red rubber! This set is also illustrated by my friend Sandhya Iyer. This set has a large corner stamp and a smaller individual stamp too, as well as 3 beautiful sentiments.

I started by stamping the large corner Gingko leaf and then the smaller leaf image as well. For this card I am using my Karin markers! I am loving the vibrancy of these markers! They are so fun to work with! I used the following colors (lightest to darkest): lime green, grass green, olive green, and indigo blue. I added some blue shading in the corner of each leaf using a dark blue pencil.

I then added a few splatters in a gold pigment ink, the splatters are from the May 2020 KOM. I then die cut the panel using a Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle die. I adhered the panel onto a gray card base. I used a gold thin thread to add some extra interest to the card and adhered the small gingko leaf in the top corner using foam adhesive. I added the sentiment Hello Beautiful Friend with foam tape as well. I can’t wait to use these leaves again!

During the pandemic Unity released digi stamps, many of which are turning into red rubber! You can see the latest release here! One of my favorites is the beautiful Jesus and Germs set! Here is a card sample I made using the digital version, now it’s in red rubber!!!!! So happy about this being released!

Be sure to check out the AMAZING sale too – all of the 2020 released stamps are all on SALE right now too!

I hope you have a great weekend! Be safe and healthy my crafty friends! I truly appreciate you stopping by, it means so much to me!

Check out the latest release… Unity Stamp Company

Hi friends! I am back to share a couple cards with you using 2 of the latest releases at Unity stamp Company! I always get excited to see the newest releases and they are all amazing! You can see them all here – Unity Stamp Company. Today I will be sharing 2 cards with you!

For my first card I am using 2 sets from Unity Stamp Company Favorite Dad and the ties in my card are from the May 2020 Kit of the Month. The Favorite Dad set comes with 13 stamps and this BOLD Father stamp is just amazing. I started by stamping the 3 different ties in a random pattern on Neenah 80 lb. card stock using Memento black ink. I used alcohol markers to color these ties in. I did very little blending for this card. I used 2 sentiments from this set the large Father stamp and the awesome sentiment – The Man, The Myth, The Legend. I love this one – it just makes me smile! I adhered the panel to a black base and used foam tape behind them to add dimension. I die cut my tie panel using a Gina Marie Designs die – Double Stitched Rectangle Die. I used a black card base and then adhered my 2 sentiments and my card was complete!

For card 2 today I am using Passing the Storm – by artist Phyllis Harris, Unity Stamp Company. I am loving the whimsical feel of each stamp Phyllis creates – they are truly beautiful and they remind me of a children’s picture book! I chose to watercolor this card using my Peerless Water colors. I used Canson Mixed Media paper to work on today.

I loved the sentiment in this set – Waiting for the Storm to Pass…. so I decided to create a Rainbow theme for this card. I had a lot of fun coloring this image. It is truly beautiful and so whimsical! Once my watercolor was complete, I added perfect pearls in gold on the sun rays for added shine. I had a hard time capturing the shine in the picture. I also used my white gel pen to add polka dots to her pink rain boots! I set it aside to dry. I used a piece of patterned paper in my stash by Graciellie Design. This was a recent gift in my kit of the month and I just love this paper! It is so thick and pretty! I die cut it to create a panel of rainbow dots. I adhered this to a black card base. Once my stamped panel was dry I die cut this into a rectangle to fit inside my rainbow dot panel frame. I die cut the same sized rectangle out of foam and adhered this to the back of my stamped panel and then glued this down to the card base. I adhered the sentiment and my card was complete! I hope this card makes your dry brighter too!

I hope you enjoyed these 2 cards today! I had a lot of fun working with these new sets! Be sure to check out all of the new RELEASES, as well as their summer inventory SALE!!!!! I have so many favorites in the SALE…. check it out here!
