Summer Bloom – Rachel Vass Designs

Hi everyone – I am excited to be back to share the beautiful new release from Rachel Vass Designs – Summer Bloom. I love this bold flower! This beautiful new set comes with a shaded version of the summer bloom, as well as unshaded! How fun is that! You can visit Rachel’s shop here

For today’s card I chose to work with the shaded summer bloom. I wanted to create a large floral image as the focus of my card. Once it was set to the size I was looking for I printed the image on Canson Mixed Media paper. I used my peerless water colors to color in my flower. I used a variety of shades today. I am loving these new water colors and how bright they are. Once my image was complete I set it aside to dry fully.

To create my card panel I chose to work with patterned paper from my stash. The papers I am using today are an older set from Stampin Up, it is double sided. I trimmed the side panel and used a punch to create the scalloped border on the pink. I then chose a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and stamped this on gray card stock and heat embossed this using white embossing powder. I was then ready to assemble my card. I used my scan and cut to trim the floral. I used foam tape to pop up the floral, as well as the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

Supplies Used:

  • Stamps: Summer Bloom – Rachel Vass Designs, Sentiment (Simon Says Stamp)
  • Paper: Canson Mixed Media Paper, Patterned paper (Stampin Up)
  • Coloring Medium: Peerless water Colors

Have a wonderful weekend! It is a bit cooler here today!

Thinking of You – Rachel Vass Designs

Hi everyone – it is release day over at Rachel Vass Designs. Rachel’s newest digital stamp set is called – Mock Orange Blossom. This set is beautiful, you can check it out here.

I started by working with my image within word. It is fun to resize the image, this allows you to create many different types of cards using 1 stamp set. For my card I used 2 branches. I printed my images on Canson Mixed Media paper. I used my Tombow markers to color in my image. When working on Canson mixed media I place the color on my glass mat and then I pick up the coloring using a water brush. I have found this to work the best, as well as allow the coloring to dry between the layers. I added serval layers of color and completed the coloring by adding some shading to the nooks and crannies. I also used a white gel pen on the flower stamens to allow those to “pop” out.

When my coloring was complete I used my Brother Scan and Cut to “fussy cut” my branches. I added foam tape to both of my branches, as well as the sentiment and set them aside. I then created a water color background on Canson Water Color card stock. Once my card panel was dry, I adhered this to an A2 sized card, adhered my images, as well as my sentiment. I added a few sequins for added shine at the end.

I hope you enjoyed this card! If you haven’t tried digital stamps yet, I would encourage you to try them! Visit Rachel Vass Designs to see this new release plus many other beautiful sets!

Supplies Used:

Have a great rest of your Saturday! Crafty Hugs,

Romantic Ruffle – New Release Rachel Vass Designs

Hi Everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a good start and this post finds you doing well! Most importantly healthy! Today I am back sharing a new release called Romantic Ruffle by Rachel Vass Designs. You can check out this gorgeous new image and of course all her beautiful digital stamps at her ETSY shop.

If you have been following me for awhile, when I work with digital images I often use Canson Mixed Media paper. I have found this paper to be the best for me when working with digital images. I wanted the focal point to be this beautiful bloom, so I resized the image and then printed. I colored this beautiful bloom using shades of blue, purple, and red. I added colors in layers until my flower was complete. I used gold perfect pearls for the center of my flower.

I used a piece of watercolor card stock to create the background. I used my distress inks to create an ink smooshed background. I added splatters using gold watercolors. I foam mounted my floral, adhered my sentiment, and added a few sequins, and my card was complete. I do wish I would have foam mounted my sentiment, but that is ok right….

Have a beautiful day and stay healthy my friends!

Hugs – Rachel Vass Designs

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a good start and this post finds you doing well! I am back sharing a new release from Rachel Vass Designs. The newest release is adorable and contains floral jars, you can see the set here in Rachel’s ETSY shop. I chose to work with the Eucalyptus Jar stamp to create a CAS design.

I started by working with my image in Microsoft word. I do all my editing here for my digital images. If you need any help, I am happy to help! I wanted to create a slim line card using this jar. Once my image was sized I printed my images on Canson Mixed Media paper. I have found this paper to be awesome lately when working with digital images, I can color shortly after printing and it can take layers on color too! I used my arteza brush pens for my card today. When my coloring was complete I added 2 embossed stripes on the right hand panel of my card using Rose Gold powder from Ranger. I did leave off small sections of powder to create some added interest. I then added splatters of gold and brown to my card.

I chose a Hugs sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp and cut this 3x on black card stock. I glued them together for added dimension and embossed them using the same Rose Gold powder. I then adhered my card panel to a black slim line card base and glued down my hugs sentiment as well. I added a sentiment from the new release as well to the inside of my card.

This completes my card for today! I hope you will visit Rachel’s ETSY shop to see this new release, plus many other beautiful stamps!

Supplies Used:

  • Stamps: Jars Stamp – Rachel Vass Designs
  • Coloring Medium: Arteza Brush Pens
  • Paper: canson Mixed Media Paper, Recollections 110 lb for card base
  • Other: Ranger Embossing Powder – Rose Gold, Metallic Water Colors

Have a great weekend! Crafty Hugs,

Doodle Flower – Rachel Vass Designs

Happy Release day – Rachel Vass Designs. Today I am sharing the new release April Doodle Flower from Rachel Vass designs. You can find this new stamp and all of Rachel’s designs at her etsy shop here.

I started by working with the doodle flower in Microsoft Word. I layered 2 of the flower images together to create the slim line card. I printed my images on Canson Mixed Media paper. I colored in my flowers using my Arteza real brush pens. I used a combination of yellow, orange, and red. I completed several layers of color on the paper. I have found with this paper I start with the ink on my paper and then after a couple layers I add the ink to my glass mat, then bring it to the paper. I have found this method to work well, as this paper is thinner. Once my flowers were complete I added white dots to the stamens of the flowers with my gel pen. I added splatters across the panel and set it aside to dry.

Once my panel was dry I adhered my panel to a black card case. I added stickles to the center of each flower for added shine. I hope you enjoyed this card and I encourage you to visit Rachel’s shop for this new release, plus many other beautiful designs.

Have a great day! Crafty hugs,

Natasha
