Happy Release Day – Alex Syberia Design

Hi Friends – I am so excited to share 2 cards I created with Alex Syberia’s July release! The release is so beautiful, you can see the July release and all of her digital stamps in her ETSY shop – be sure to check them out! To celebrate Alex’s new release she is hosting an Instagram hop! I hope you will come join us! You will be able to see all of the beautiful new stamp sets, be inspired by the designers, as well as have a chance to win a gift certificate to her shop! I hope to see you there!

For my first card I am using the Plumeria Card Panel digital stamp. I started by printing my image on Canson Mixed Media paper. I love this card panel image, it is all ready to go to create an A2 sized card. I did want to also share when I work with digital stamps I often print several stamps on one sheet of paper, this is a great way to create multiple cards and to make sure you use a full size piece of paper.

I taped down my panel to my work surface/board and was ready to watercolor. I used a combination of Zig clean color brush markers and Peerless Water colors for this stamped image. I used the following colors:

  • Leaves: Light green 041, yellow green 053, Olive Green 043, Persian Green 033, Peacock 038
  • Flower: Yellow 050, Scarlet Red 023, Dark Pink 027
  • Stem: Mid Brown 065

I worked in layers and allowed my coloring to dry between. Once my coloring was complete I set this aside to dry. To create the background I used an A2 size piece of Bristol Smooth Card stock. I used Distress Oxide in Black Soot to create the background. I added Perfect Pearls as well for added shine. For my sentiments I used the Hugs die from Simon Says stamp and The Gray Muse – You Grow, Girl sentiment strip. I layered the hugs die cut 3x for added dimension. I then fussy cut the stamped image on the top and glued this to my oxide ink blended background. I had fun with this one – it reminds me of the beach!

For my second card I am using the Beautiful Flowers digital stamp set – slimline panel. As soon as I saw this stamp, I thought of Alex’s dot coloring! Which I truly love and can only hope to learn this technique more over time. You can see card examples by Alex using this technique – I am blown away by her creativity! So here is my attempt….

I printed the slim line panel on Canson Mixed Media paper. To color the 3 floral images I used my Tombow markers. I used: Pink 723, Blue 553, as well as added some Peerless watercolors to deepen the blue color. I completed just a couple layers of color on this card. I set the floral image aside to dry prior to adding the dots.

To create the background I used a piece of watercolor cardstock a little larger than a slimline base. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors: Rose Madder 34, Rose Madder Deep 36, and some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Fuschia) to create the background. I added a few gold splatters to the pink base as well. In person you can see the added shine. I then chose 3 colors of alcohol markers and attempted some dot coloring! I have a log way to go, but it was fun! On Alex’s You Yube channel she does show how she uses this technique! I watched it before trying it! I wanted to add a little extra shine, so I used Stickles in gold and placed this in the center of each flower and added gold glitter on top! It’s super sparkly in person! I then chose the Birthday sentiment from – Gingko Greetings – Unity Stamp Company. I heat embossed this in gold on black cardstock. I adhered my card together and foam mounted my sentiment! I hope this card will brighten someone’s birthday!

Alex Syberia Designs – June Release

Happy Friday everyone! I am super excited to be a part of Alex Syberia’s June release! I love Alex’s work as a card artist, as well as an artist of her own digital stamps! She truly inspires me as a card maker! Today I will be sharing 3 cards with you using her June release! You can see all of the release at her ETSY shop. Alex is also doing an Instagram hop with her guest designers this month, be sure to visit Alex’s Instagram page for an awesome hop full of her beautiful stamps, as well as tons of inspiration! Alex is giving away 5 – $10 gift certificates to her shop! Come join the fun!

For my first card I am using the Sunflower close up card panel. I LOVE SUNFLOWERS, so I was so excited to work on this card!

I started by printing the card panel on Canson Mixed Media paper. This image was ready to go as a card panel, so I was ready to being my watercoloring! I love making bright cards and I went with BOLD colors and a BOLD background on this one! I used peerless watercolors on the sunflower stamp, as well as the background around my sunflower. I worked in layers on this card and waited for the colors to dry, before adding in another layer of color. I continued this process until my sunflower was complete.

I then followed the same process for the background around the sunflower. I have to admit I did have a few spots that the watercolor ran… but in the end I’m liking all the color! I hope you do too! I stamped the sentiment – Hello Sunshine (Unity Stamp Company – Hello Sunshine Girl) in Versafine black ink and heat embossed it using a clear powder. I added a few black metallic watercolor splatters and mounted the panel on an A2 card base.

I am loving slim line cards – how about you? For my 2nd card I used the Dog Rose Ready Slime line card panel. I love that this panel was ready for me to create and add all the fun color!

I am using Canson Mixed media paper for my stamped image on this card as well. I used my Tombow Dual brush pens. I wanted to create a softer color palette on this card. Between each layer I let the panel dry, then added more color, until it was complete! I then die cut the Big Thanks die – Simon Says stamp. I die cut the black – thanks 1 time and the white 3 times, for added dimension. I then adhered these together and set this aside to dry under an acrylic block. I stamped the sentiment – For Always Being There from the same set (Big Thanks – Simon Says Stamp). I adhered the floral panel to a slim line card base and adhered both sentiments, the smaller strip is adhered with foam adhesive.

Here is a closer look….

For my last card – I used the Happy Sunflower Stamp. I did work with this image in word a bit, as I wanted to create a slim line card with this stamp as well. Once my image was ready, I printed this on Canson Mixed Media paper and watercolored this image using Peerless Watercolors.

I loved watercoloring this image! I followed a similar pattern as shared with the 2 cards above, giving time to dry between layers. Once my flower was done I set the panel aside to dry. I then started to work on my background the panel. I had so much fun with this… I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to create the effect using yellow #43, blue #62, #63, gold #91, and White #906. I put all the colors on my glass mat with a little water and “smooshed” the paper on the glass mat. I then dried the background using my heat tool. I completed this process several times until I had the colors I was looking for. I love the added gold sparkle too! I placed the background under some heavy books for the night to “flatten” the panel.

I then used my Brother Scan and cut to “fussy” cut the sunflower. Then I added gold & white splatters to the sunflower. I may have added a few too many! Ooops! I also stamped the sentiment – Simon Says Stamp on black card stock using white embossing powder. Once everything was dry I put my card together and adhered the sentiment with foam tape for a little extra dimension.

For my first card I am using the new Precious Flower set. I love Alex’s flowers, they are so beautiful and so much fun to color. When I work with digital images I work in word to create my card base. For this card I wanted to create a slimline card. The precious flowers were perfect for layering to create my card. I layered 3 Precious Flowers and turned them in different directions to create my card panel. I then printed my card on Canson Mixed Media paper and couldn’t wait to color! I used my Tombow markers for this card. I used the following colors: pink (723, 803, 685, 636), Blue (515, 528, 555, 620), and leaves (173, 228, 379). Between layers I let the color dry, then I add my next layer. When my coloring was complete I cut down the panel to create a slime line card. I then added splatters in white and a bright yellow. Once dry I adhered the white panel on a piece of black card stock, then glued this onto a slim line card base. I set this aside. I chose 2 sentiments from The Gray Muse – Favorite Card maker sentiment set. I heat embossed these on black card stock using white embossing powder. I used foam tape and added these to my card. I am loving the slim line cards and Alex’s flowers are just the perfect stamp for these cards!

For card 2, I combined 2 sets in Alex’s May release: Almond Blossoms and Kokeshi Doll Mitsuki. I was so excited to work with these dolls. They are all so beautiful and Alex has several Kokeshi dolls in her new release to choose from! I printed these images on Neenah 80lb card stock as I was going to color these in using alcohol markers. On the almond blossoms I used shades of light gray to color each flower. I also added a gold pen to the stamens of each flower. I was so excited to color in Mitsuki – she is just beautiful! Once my coloring was complete I used my Brother Scan and cut to “fussy cut” each image. I trimmed a black panel of card stock to add to my slim line base. I added gold splatters to the black card base. Once dry I adhered all the beautiful stamps to create my slime line. I chose a sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh – Encouraging Greetings and heat embossed this in gold. This sweet doll, just makes me smile! Be sure to check out all the Kokeshi dolls in Alex’s release!

For card 3, I am using the Aloe Close Up card panel. I printed my Aloe panel on Canson Mixed Media Card stock and used my Peerless Water Colors to color this beautiful aloe plant! I used many shades of colors until I achieved the depth of color I was looking for. I let each layer dry between colors. I added a deep navy blue onto the nooks and crannies for added dimension. I adhered my panel to a black card base. To complete my card I heat embossed a sentiment from Hero Arts on black card stock using white embossing powder, I adhered this with foam tape. I added a few clear drops to resemble water droplets. I love this aloe plant stamped image!

Dahlia Slim Card – Alex Syberia

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend and had a very nice Easter. I spent the day with my family and kids. It was fun to see my kids (18 and soon to be 15) go on an Easter egg hunt in the house! We had a lot of fun! Today I am sharing a beautiful new stamp set from Alex Syberia – Dahlia Slim card panel.

I started by printing the card panel on Bristol Smooth card stock. I used my zig clean color brush markers to color all the beautiful Dahilas. This panel was truly fun to color! I used several layers to add the color and depth to my florals. Once my coloring was complete I added splatters in several colors that are within my card.

To complete my card I added a sentiment from Hero Arts (Sending you Sunshine and Laughter) and the Hugs die is from (Simon Says Stamp). I layered this using a pink and black card stock). To compelte the card I adhered this to a black card panel.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Be sure to visit the Alex Syberia Design shop.

Madame Dahila – Alex Syberia Design

Hi everyone – I am super excited to be guest designing for Alex Syberia’s newest release! I have been a huge fan of her work and to be guest designing for her, just makes so happy! This new release is full of amazing stamp sets and you will be able to shop here. In the store you can see each of the beautiful new sets being released! I created 3 cards for this release and will be sharing them with you over the next few days! Be sure to visit instagram for beautiful inspiration, as well as Alex’s blog. Be prepared to stay awhile at her blog, it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

For my first card I am using the Madame Dahlia card panel from the release. I printed my stamp on Bristol smooth cardstock. I find I don’t create too many blue florals, so I wanted to try something new. I used a mix of 2 blues and a green for my floral. I continued to add color until I was seeing my vision. I then added some deep blue with colored pencils in the nooks and crannies.

I then added splatters to the whole panel. I used blue, green, and even a little gold. I then added sentiment from a Hero Arts set I own. I stamped the image and then heat set it using white embossing powder. To complete my card I adhered the sentiment with foam tape and glued my panel onto a black card base. I added a few sequins as well.

I hope you visit Alex’s shop here to see her amazing new release! Have fun shopping!!!!!!!!!

Crafty Hugs,

Winter Flowers – Alex Syberia Designs

Hi everyone! I hope your having a great weekend! Today I am using the beautiful digital stamp Winter Flowers by Alex Syberia. I am attaching a link here to her store in etsy…. https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlexSyberiaDesign I love her stamps and her work! I am also participating in the Daily Marker 30 day challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin. I love this time and setting time aside for me to do what I love… COLOR!

I started by printing the Winter Flowers on Bristol smooth card stock. When working with digital stamps I like to print and let them sit for 24 hours before coloring. For this card I used my Tombow dual brush pens and then shaded in the nooks and crannies using my Arteza colored pencils. I die cut the card panel using a Gina Marie Designs die and then mounted the card on an A2 card base. I then wanted to add some extra shine so I used a Glitter embossing powder from WOW – Pearl Gold sparkle. I used an embossing pen to add embossing ink to the centers of each flower and added my glitter powder, then heat set.

I then used my metallic watercolors (from Hobby Lobby) to add splatters, I chose a purple and blue color to highlight the flower. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to add a sentiment, but I then decided to add one (it felt like it needed a little extra) – the sentiment is from The Gray Muse.

Supplies Used:

  • Stamps: Alex Syberia Designs (Winter Flowers), The Gray Muse
  • Paper: Bristol Smooth card stock, 120 lb Recollections for card base
  • Coloring Medium: Tombow Markers, Watercolors

Hope you have a great Sunday & a great start to your week! – Crafty Hugs,
